Dr Debra Kalmanowitz ATR, PhD, is an artist and art therapist with a specialization in disaster relief, trauma, and community work ,. She has over three decades of experience of work with refugees and asylum seekers, as well as in humanitarian aid working both locally and internationally as an art therapist, supervisor, trainer and group facilitator. She is currently a practicing artist and art therapist, the Head of the art therapy Master’s degree at Sapir Academic Collage, works with the international NGO IsraAid and a resilience centre in the South of Israel. She is the co-author of The Portable Studio, Art Therapy and Political Violence: With art, without illusion and Art Therapy in Asia: To the Bone or Wrapped in Silk.
