A Dutch or German Baroque-Style Burr Walnut and Marquetry Display Cabinet on Bombe Chest of Drawers, 19th Century

This impressive two-part cabinet features a gracefully shaped cornice with a central carved rococo shell motif. The upper display section has a pair of astragal glazed doors, each with a carved crest, revealing a lined interior with shelves. The lower part is a bombe-shaped chest of drawers with two full-width drawers and two smaller drawers, all adorned with intricate floral marquetry inlays. The piece is raised on four carved claw feet. The cabinet is constructed from walnut and burl walnut veneers, and the marquetry is created using a variety of woods to form scrolling floral and other decorative motifs. The given dimensions are approximately 115 cm (w) x 46 cm (d) x 215 cm (h). A condition note should mention that the cabinet needs a back support leg.

Due to the use of veneering and elaborate marquetry, this cabinet is characteristic of the Baroque or Rococo revival period, which was popular in the 19th century.

⏱️ Timed Auction Format

• All bidders must be registered to participate.
• Auctions operate on 60-second intervals. If a bid is placed within the final 60 seconds, the timer resets with an additional 60 seconds.
• Lots close sequentially—each must conclude before the next begins.
• All items are sold AS IS. Descriptions and photographs form part of the item listing.
• Condition reports are available upon request from Robbie at 064 521 8240.
• Important Notice to Buyers

Buyers are advised to carefully review all available photographs and request a detailed condition report from Redline Auctioneers prior to placing a bid. Please note that all sales are final— NO refunds OR returns will be accepted once the auction concludes and the item has been invoiced.

🔐 Reserve, No Reserve & STC (Subject to Confirmation)

• If the reserve is met, the highest bidder wins and is invoiced.
• For STC lots, bidders will be notified of the outcome the day after the auction.

💳 Payment & Invoicing

• Banking details are included on each invoice.
• Payment is due within 24 hours of receiving your invoice.
• Use your invoice number as your Reference number
• Non-payment results in blacklisting across all Redline Auctioneers platforms.

🚚 Collection, Delivery & Courier Options

• Location: 1 Parry Road, Springs, Gauteng 1559
• Items must be collected within 7 days of payment unless otherwise arranged.
• Delivery options include Courier Guy, PUDO, Fastway and POSTNET, at the buyer’s expense.
• We offer delivery assistance within Gauteng at the buyer’s expense
• Buyers may arrange their own courier or collect in person.
• All logistics must be coordinated with Yolandie (Admin).
• Redline Auctioneers is not liable for uncollected items or damages post-auction

📦 Wrapping & Boxing Services

• If you require your items to be wrapped or boxed, please ensure this is clearly communicated with Yolandie in advance. A separate quote will be provided, as packaging services are not included in your invoice by default.

You are also welcome to contract your own boxing or packaging company should you prefer to make independent arrangements.

💰 Buyer’s Commission

• A 15% buyer’s commission applies to all lots.
• All items are pre-owned and may show signs of use.
• Buyers are strongly encouraged to request a condition report and conduct independent assessments.
