Welcome to the African Tails Online Auction 2025

Thank you for joining us in support of African Tails NPO, a Cape Town–based rescue, rehoming and sterilization charity dedicated to improving the lives of South Africa’s street cats and dogs.

Every artwork and experience in this auction has been generously donated by artists and friends of African Tails from around the world. The event is entirely not-for-profit, with all proceeds going directly to African Tails (www.africantails.com).

From 16–30 November 2025, you’ll have the chance to bid on a unique collection of artworks and experiences, each one a reflection of compassion and creativity, and each bid helping to change lives.

Background & Vision

Established in 2006, African Tails has sterilized more than 17,500 dogs and cats, found homes for over 2,700, and fed and treated thousands more. 

Mass sterilisation and pet care education sit at the heart of our work, empowering communities with vital skills such as responsibility, empathy and accountability. With one unsterilised female dog and her offspring able to produce 67,000 puppies in six years, large-scale sterilisation remains the most effective way to curb overpopulation and prevent suffering.

Driven solely by public donations, African Tails is a small yet mighty team working every day to rescue animals in distress, provide life-saving veterinary care, and carry out essential sterilisation campaigns in vulnerable communities.

This auction helps sustain that work for the year ahead. Every bid placed, and every item won, directly supports medical treatments, sterilisations, food, shelter and medicines for the animals who depend on them.

We are deeply grateful to the artists, supporters, friends and family whose generosity makes this event possible. The kindness behind each contribution reflects the compassion at the heart of African Tails.

Payment and Collection of art

An invoice with payment details will be sent to the successful bidder within the week after the event. Please keep an eye out for this email.

Payment is due immediately upon receipt of the invoice, and artworks will not be released until payments have successfully cleared in the fundraising account. Please ensure timeous payment to allow for this before collecting work.

If we cannot reach the winner of each bid after several attempts, or payment is not made within the allocated time, the second successful bidder after them will be considered the winner of that bid and will be contacted instead.

Successful bidders can collect the works of art between 01 – 10 December (once payment has reflected). The details will be provided in the respective invoice, to each successful bidder. 

If required, any request to deliver artwork to areas outside of Cape Town can be done at the successful bidder's own expense. We are able to courier from Postnet to Postnet (0-5kg is R99).
