2025 Oakhurst Live & Online Auction Rules

1. Auctioneers

• Online auction: Mafunyane Technologies cc t/a Bidpro (https://bidpro.co.za/).
• Live auction: MC du Toit from BidX1 South Africa (https://bidx1.com/en/blog/2020/05/06/mc-du-toit-ceo-sales-bidx1-south-africa)

2. Online Auction Date and Time:  

• Bidding starts:  Tuesday, 19 August 2025 at 08:00
• Bidding ends:  Thursday, 21 August 2025 at 20:00 (sequential closing of lots, one by one every minute from 20:00 onwards).
• Bidding on the first online lot (Lot 41) closes at 20:00. Each subsequent lot will close one minute after the previous one. The final lot is scheduled to close at approximately 20:46.

3. Live Auction Date and Time:

• Event starts: Thursday, 21 August at 18:00
• Bidding ends:  Approximately 22:30, once all 40 lots have been auctioned.

4. Inspection of Goods
   • Goods may be inspected at Oakhurst School from 08:00 on Monday, 18 August 2025 to 20:00 on Thursday, 21 August 2025.
   • Live and online auction Goods will be displayed in the Oak Room at Oakhurst School at the live auction from 18:00 – 20:00 on Thursday, 21 August 2025.
5. Online Auction Format: 

• The online auction will take place at https://bidpro.co.za/AuctionDetails/1211.
• Lots 41 - 87 will be auctioned off during the online auction.
• Users must register for the auction on https://bidpro.co.za/Auctions to partake.
• Any registered user, local or international, may bid.
• Once a bid is successfully placed the bidder will be responsible for payment of the lot should the bidder be the highest bidder for that lot.
• "Soft Close" / Anti-Sniping Rule: If a bid is placed within the last two minutes of a lot's closing time, the closing time for that lot will be extended by another two minutes.
• The online auction closes during our live event! We recommend placing your maximum bid online beforehand if you plan to be busy at the live auction.
• No cancellations will be allowed.
• The Auctioneer may accept or reject any bids.
• The Auctioneer’s decision is final and binding.
• Oakhurst School reserves the right to ask for a deposit from bidders who make extraordinary bids, to mitigate the risk of non-payment.

6. Live Auction Format: 

• Lots 1 - 40 will be auctioned off during the live auction.
• Attendees will be registered as bidders upon arrival at the event from 18:00.
• Once a bid is successfully placed the bidder will be responsible for payment of the lot should the bidder be the highest bidder for that lot.
• No cancellations will be allowed.
• The Auctioneer may accept or reject any bids.
• The Auctioneer’s decision is final and binding.

7. Payment: 

• Payment will be due by no later than 23:00 on 21 August 2025.
• Payment may be made in person at Oakhurst School (Oakhurst Avenue, Rondebosch, Cape Town, South Africa 7700) on Thursday, 21 August 2025, after the live auction event ends.
• Alternatively, payment can be made via EFT or Karri App. All payments must be received by 23:00 on 21 August 2025. EFT payments may be made to:

8. Live & Online Auction Dispatch of Goods:

• At the live auction: Winners may collect their live and online auction winning lots from Oakhurst School (Oakhurst Avenue, Rondebosch, Cape Town, South Africa 7700) on Thursday, 21 August 2025, after the live auction event ends.
• From Oakhurst School: Alternatively, winners may collect their lots from Oakhurst School any school day between Friday, 22 August 2025 (from 08:00) and Friday, 29 August 2025 (until 15:30).
• No goods will be dispatched without payment.
• All lots must be collected by no later than 15:30 on Friday, 29 August 2025. Any lots not collected by 15:30 on Friday, 29 August 2025 will be considered forfeited and will be resold, with no refund to the buyer.
• Oakhurst School cannot package items on behalf of buyers.

9. Risk & shipping:

• Risk passes to the purchaser at 23:00 on Thursday, 21 August 2025.
• Buyers are responsible for arranging their own courier service for collection from the school during the specified collection times.
• The cost of shipping, if any, will be for the buyer’s account.
• Oakhurst School accepts no responsibility for the risk in shipping the goods to the buyer.
